Scope of Information technology is unlimited. It doesnot limiti you in Nepal only. If you are good in IT, you can make really good money. There are a lot of ways to earn after doing IT. more and more multinational companies and foreign companies are outsoursing IT departments to the third world countries so the scope of Information technology is increasing day by day. If you work in local Nepali company, you can expect a low salary burt after gaining some experience, your salary scale will increase highly and you can sell yourself easily. there is a constant need of IT technician in every sectors and every industries. regarding the salaty scale of Information Technology graduates in Nepal, the average salary for programmer, IT technician in Kathmandu is about 20,000 in starting. After you show your skills and be a good programmer, coder, designer in Nepal you can earn upto 200000 per month here in Nepal too.

Dear Yaggya, as you said you are from management faculty, you can’t go for B.Sc. CSIT. You will get the chance to study BIM of TU and other courses related to IT.Graduates from this program are qualified for employment in both government and private sector. Some of the jobs you will get after completing this course are:
1. programmers
2. system analysts
3. network administrators
4. database developers
5. web masters
6. e-Commerce programmers
7. information system project managers
8. software application developers
9. Management information system managers and other IT related and as well as business professionals.
But, remember that, you will have a chance to get above mentioned job if and only if you have knowledge not marks. Nobody can say that you will get a job with 30,000 or 50,000 salary in the field of IT because what company needs is your knowledge and skill not your marks. thank you 🙂 -

Although scope of IT in nepal is great but it won’t be easy to find jobs paying 70-80k in Nepal easily like sumi said. There is lots of competition and employers tend to pay less by hiring inexperienced information technicians since there are not much complex IT based organisations. But I am certain that things will change soon. Nepal won’t be waiting too long for digitization and high tech country I guess.

There is a lot of opportunities for Information Technology professional, there is no doubt on that. IT is becoming a very high paying profession in Nepal these days. There is a lot of opportunities ahead because technology is in rapid development in Nepal. Businesses, government offices, private firms, companies, and organizations are moving into digital space and the rate of this movement is huge so the future of IT people is bright. After few years, I think, IT people won’t have to rely on outsourced jobs and foreign projects because there will be a lot of jobs and tasks being created within Nepal. The beauty of IT is you are not locked within geographic boundaries. Currently, a good programmer makes around 80k- 1 lakh per month working in Nepali project. Interns and beginners with sufficient skills make somewhere between 15k to 40k in average.
