    Hi,everyone,
I have just appeared my 12 examinations and I am from Mathematics group. Still I think Engineering is not what I want to study. I am interested in the Computers and what I came to know was BSC. CSIT fulfills my purpose still I get mixed views regarding BSC. CSIT too. I am in a great confusion if this BSC. CSIT is really an engineering field or just an advanced form of the IT studies ? I would very much like to hear from the concerned people here…..

I think it will be better to go for software engineering if you are interested in softwares, programs , codes etc. IT is a broad field which has many branches and faculties, software engineering is one of it. While Bsc CSIT focuses on computers and Information Technology broadly. Its like BSC in chemistery vs Bio Chemestry. Software engineering is a part of IT which also contains more components other than IT. So this is a mix of IT and engineering that is focused on softwares. Software engineering is more practical based while bsc csit is more knowledge based. do some more research before you jump into one. Since you mentioned that you are more interested in software related fields it becomes easier for me to recommend you software engineering.

    Hello Bishal Jarnal,
First of all, Congratulations to you on successfully completing Intermediate education. Give yourself a pat on the back .
Coming back to your question, I would like to initiate my answer with the solid concepts on software engineering first.
Well, Software engineering is an emerging field these days, no doubt. You can either go for CSIT or BE/Btech in cse to study software.

Digging deeper, In Bsc csit you get to study about Internet technology and some programming languages like c,c++,and java to some extent. Besides these, The course also comprise of system design,Computational theory science and many more.
On the other hand, Engineering in computer provides a way more vast and broad course offering than Bsc.csit which include hardware, Software and networking part.
You get to learn about Algorithm, Programming languages, Artificial intelligence. Moving forward, It also covers Computer architecture and design, Microprocessor design and more. Besides these, The courses also comprises computer networking part which deals with various computer network layer, their functionalities and practical implementation.

Having this much said, I would now like to add my suggestion.
I would suggest you to go for B.E entrance, Score high , get in a good college and start learning programming right from the first year as you said you like software field. This is because studying BE would give you greater exposure and ofcourse oppurtunities to learn various things. In this competitive world you get to be ahead of others or you are destroyed. As a software engineer, You must be aware of system architecture, design and working of algorithm.

Finally , Being a software engineer myself, I would definitely like to suggest for B.E computers rather than BSc,csit as I have worked with software engineers from both the fields. And I promise you will not regret after your graduation.

    All the best buddy!!
