  Do score in IELTS affect in chances to get VISA and scholarships?

  I want to know what is the importance or benefit of high score in IELTS? Will higher score help to get VISA and scholarships in good colleges. I heard if there is good score in IELTS (7.5+) then the chances to get visa increases. Is it true. What is the role of IELTS score in applying abroad and getting scholarships and admission. Plz anyone tell me in detail.
