We all know that Nepal is the second richest country in water giving us potential to generate large amount of hydroelectricity. There is a production potential of 83000 MW hydroelectricity but only 43000 MW can be produced technically and economically in Nepal. However, only 1000 MW has been generated till date. So there are still lots of works to be done on hydroelectricity production. The government of Nepal has brought many hydroelectricity projects and will be bringing more related projects in future. Similarly, many private and public sectors as well as international investors are keen to invest on hydro projects in Nepal. But there is still the lack of technical hydro experts in Nepal so, there is a huge scope of Hydropower Engineering in Nepal.
Regarding the Hydroelectricity Engineering course in Nepal, it is available only in Mid-Western University of Nepal. The seats available are about 48. It is not available in Tribhuvan University, Pokhara University and Purbanchal University. You can compete for it. You can also try for abroad studies but it may be costly. You can apply for scholarships as well as you said that you belong to the family having medium income.
