A right career is very important for an individual. In Nepal, we mostly talk about a career in Medical, and Engineering. However, there is a career which has equal or greater scope. Many other rewarding careers exist that most of us are not aware of. The few of us, who are daring to take the chance, lack the right amount of knowledge. The remaining are often discouraged by their parents and become sceptical. Thus they end up following the sheep which destroy the interest and passion of the students.
One such rewarding career is Management. Management is one of the largest, most varied and most interesting areas of work in the global economy. Nowadays Management course is also most popular in every corner of the world. There are varieties of courses in Management faculty. So, students can choose verities of course according to their interest and passions which results in a better future. Hence, the various opportunities for Management students are given below:
1. Businessman
A person who is employed by an organization or company. A businessman is often associated with white-collar jobs. In order to avoid sexism or the perpetuation of stereotypes, the term is often replaced with “Businessperson”. The term “businesswoman” is less commonly used. Anyone who conducts business whether that business is on behalf of a small company or your own entrepreneurial venture can be considered a businessman. After gaining management skills, one can start and scale his/her own business.
2. Entrepreneur
An entrepreneur is a person who sets up a business or an enterprise. An entrepreneur perceives a need and then brings together the manpower, material and capital required to meet that need. He is one who has the capability of risk-bearing, initiative and skill for innovation. He looks for high achievements. Entrepreneurs search for change, respond to it and exploit as an opportunity. He is a creative thinker, an individual who combines in himself the role of innovator and risk bearer. In the similar words, an entrepreneur is a person who perceives an idea of establishing a new business enterprise and then brings together manpower, land, materials, equipment’s and arranges necessary capital needed for the business.
3. Manager
Management is what the manager does. The manager is most important to run the organization smoothly because he/she is involved in purposeful decision-making activities. There is no hard and fast rule of manager activities or in the management. The success or failure of any organization completely depends on an effective and efficient work or performance of a manager.
4. Chartered Accountant
Prepare and examine financial records. They ensure that financial records are accurate and that taxes are paid properly and on time. They assess financial operations and work to help ensure that organizations run efficiently. Some work with a background in accounting and auditing teach in colleges and universities. Public accountant, many of whom are Chartered Accountant (CAs), generally have their own businesses or work for public accounting firms. Publicly traded companies are required to have CAs sign documents they submit to the Securities and Exchange Commission, including annual and quarterly reports.
5. Hospitality and Tour Operator
Sell transportation, lodging, and admission to entertainment activities to individuals and groups planning trips. They offer advice on destinations, plan trip itineraries, and make travel arrangements for clients. Travel agents sort through a vast amount of information to find the best possible trip arrangements for travellers. In addition, resorts and speciality groups use travel agents to promote vacation packages to their clients. They also may visits destinations to get firsthand experience so that they can make recommendations to clients or colleagues. They may visit hotels, resorts and restaurants to evaluate the comfort, cleanliness and quality of the establishment. However, most of their time is spent talking with clients, promoting tours, and contacting airlines and hotels to make travel accommodations.
6. Banker
Bankers are financial professionals who provide effective financial solutions to customers, both individuals and corporations and enforce operational policies and procedures in line with the directives from the government, central bank and international regulatory institutions. They also oversee the overall daily activities of the banks and always keep them good financial health. Besides this, disburse loans in interest rates that are competitive but necessary to generate revenue for the institutions they work for and collect due amounts from customers. They specialize in various fields within banking systems and their services.
7. IT Administrator
Study an organization’s current computers systems and procedures and design information systems and procedures and design information system solutions to help the organization operate more efficiently and effectively. Use a variety of techniques such as data modelling to design computer systems system. Data modelling allows analysts to view the processes and data flows even before programs have been written. Once programs have been written, analyst conducts in-depth tests and analyze information and trends in the data to increase a system’s performance and efficiency. The analyst also work with these people to solve problems that arise after the initial system is set up. Most analysts do some programming in the course of their work.
Hence the above are some of the opportunities to the Management students in Nepal. There are other various opportunities in Management. At the past, people were unknown about the management study but nowadays it’s popularity among all the peoples and has a good scope in Future.
