At first I would like to suggest you to clear the back exams with good marks. After you clear the exams, you can start the procedures to get admit in the dental school just like the regular students. In Nepal, BDS course is offered by Institute of Medicine of Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University and BPKIHS, Dharan. Tribhuvan University and Kathmandu University have other affiliated colleges too that provide BDS course. In order to get enrolled in these institutions, you have to fulfill the criteria set by them and also get through the entrance exam conducted by these institutions. Students who have completed 10+2 level or 12 years of schooling with physics, chemistry, biology and English as main subjects and have secured not less than 50% marks in the subjects mentioned above put together and overall aggregate of 50% are eligible to study BDS. In order to get admission in TU affiliated colleges, you should go through the entrance exam conducted by IOM, and to get enrolled in KU and its affiliated colleges, separate entrance exam is conducted by KU. BPKIHS also conduct a separate entrance exam for BDS course. You can go through the official site of the institutions to get information related to entrance exam. Generally, entrance exam of KU is conducted earlier than TU. Questions related to physics, chemistry and biology are generally asked in the entrance exam. As you are interested in studying BDS at KU, you should first fill the application form for the entrance exam and appear in the exam conducted by KU. Kathmandu University provides dental course in its dental school in Dulikhel and also through other affiliated college like Nepal Medical College, Kathmandu Medical College and Kantipur Dental College. The cost for studying BDS in Nepal ranges from 15 lakhs to 20 lakhs excluding the accommodation fee and other charges. There are many institutions to study BDS in Nepal and it’s is definitely a good career option. Lastly I advise you to prepare well for the entrance exam, you can join the medical entrance preparation classes for this.
